Treatment Processes - tel 01772 336519
All our preservative treatment processes are carried out under controlled conditions in modern industrial treatment plants within our treatment centre. The treatment process utilised depends upon the timber component and its end use.
Arch Timber Protection is a BS EN ISO 9001 registered company and our continual assessment against this quality standard includes the Preston Service Treatment Centre.
High Pressure Process
The production of TANALISED E, TANALISED EXTRA and TANATONE pressure treated timbers involves a high pressure treatment process that drives the preservative deep into the structure of the timber.
High pressure treatment has the potential for a high level of penetration.
The actual penetration level will depend on the heartwood/sapwood ratio of the timber, as well as the permeability of the species.
Greater penetration will be achieved with a permeable species such as Pine, against a more resistant species such as Spruce.

Pack Sizes and Treatment Turnaround
Normal turnaround for these treatments is 3-4 days, depending on the volume of treatments required.
* PLEASE NOTE that service treatment for TANALISED EXTRA pressure treated timber is available only on individual orders of 40 cubic metres and above.
Low Pressure Process
The production of VACSOL AQUA treated timbers involves a low pressure/double vacuum treatment process that provides an envelope protection to the timber components.
Double vacuum, low pressure treatment gives an envelope penetration as shown in the diagram opposite.

Pack Sizes and Treatment Turnaround
Our low pressure plant for producing VACSOL AQUA treated timber measures 10.2m in length and can accommodate modern full pack sizes - 1.2m x 1.2m. If you have any questions regarding suitable pack sizes or any special handling requirements that may be required please consult our treatment centre staff.
The large dimensions of our low pressure facility makes it particularly suitable for the treatment of manufactured joinery items, truss and timber frame material, garden building components and packs of cladding.
Normal turnaround for VACSOL AQUA treatments is 1-2 days, depending upon the volume of treatment required.
Unloading/Loading
All our service treatments include unloading and loading onto customers own vehicles.
