Fire Retardant Treatments

DRICON fire retardant treated timber and sheet material is suitable for interior and weather protected exterior situations. High pressure impregnated with a Type HR (humidity resistant) formulation and kiln dried to a specific moisture content, it is the only industrial fire retardant treatment for timber with BBA (British Board of Agrément) approval.

Treatments are to Euroclass C in accordance with BS EN 13501-1: 2002 or Class 1 Surface Spread of Flame in accordance with BS 476: Part 7 for timbers used in walls or ceiling linings or alternatively to Euroclass B in accordance with BS EN 13501-1: 2002 or Class 0 BS 476: Parts 6 & 7 for timbers used in escape routes and staircases.

NON-COM EXTERIOR treated timber and sheet material is suitable for exterior or severe damp situations. The timber is high pressure impregnated with a Type LR (leach resistant) formulation and then kiln dried and heat cured to a specific moisture content.

Treatments are to Euroclass C in accordance with BS EN 13501-1: 2002 or Class 1 Surface Spread of Flame in accordance with BS 476: Part 7 or alternatively to Euroclass B in accordance with BS EN 13501-1: 2002 or Class 0 BS 476: Parts 6 & 7 for exterior cladding and external structures.
For cedar shingles/shakes and Yorkshire boarding material treatment is to BS 476: Part 3 AA/P60 Roof Penetration Test.

PLEASE NOTE: When required we can also supply timber and
plywood ready for fire retardant treatment.

Decorative Finishes
RESTOL translucent wood oils can provide a high performance decorative finish for fire retardant treated timbers, when required. RESTOL allows timber's natural grain to show through, whilst offering maximum weather protection. A low build, coat-on-coat product, it provides a complete finish from a single can, eliminating the need for a separate primer or undercoat. Based on a natural material, Linseed Oil, RESTOL is suitable for use on decking, cladding, high quality fencing and garden furniture and has been used successfully in Europe for over 30 years.
